Box set recommendation: Gilmore Girls

Hello Lovely Readers!

Summer is a great time for me to explore more of the Netflix library and find a new box set to get into! I know I know, you're probably thinking "why would you want to stay inside during the Summer?" Well I've done everything I could possibly want to do so far this holiday and I really enjoy catching up on a good box set before getting stuck into my resit placement come September!

When I first starting writing this blog post I was only on season 1 of Gilmore Girls. Now I'm finishing this draft I am on Season 7. It's taken me 3 weeks, which obviously means I've binged watched the series. It isn't new, however it is due to have a remake added to Netflix very soon.

I think Gilmore Girls is a programme that most people can relate to dealing with real life issues. I can relate to Lorelai sooooo much it is unreal. The whole 'man drama' she deals with is something we all have dealt with during our relationships (men and women). It's an easy going, fun, light-hearted rom com box set and if you're searching for something to sink your teeth into prepare to get addicted because you'll love this box set!

I don't want to say too much about storyline because then there would be no point in you watching it! It follows the lives of Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter Lorelai (Rory), through the years as they grow up and experience the difficulties and problems in their lives. It's really nice to see each season begin with a new year and see the new problems they face. I will definitely be sad when I finish all of the seasons and hope that the new remake comes soon!

The notable characters are played by Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel and Melissa McCarthy. I love their characters and they really have made the series enjoyable. I couldn't imagine their characters played by other actresses, McCarthy is fabulous in everything she stars in and she really shines in her role.

Let me know if you watch this box set or decide to watch it! Would love to know your thoughts.

Moody Monday's Volume 15: Let's have a chat

Hello Bloggers!

Yes, I know I'm terrible at remembering to blog recently! Awful and there isn't an excuse why I haven't so I won't start by making one! A lot of exciting things have happened over the last few weeks and coupled with the beautiful weather we've been having it has made an exciting start to my Summer!

Luke and I. Nice yellow jumper  from Matalan cheers for the hole though guys! Will be taking this back!
I will aim to be more on top of posts this week I assure you! It will be nice to get back into a schedule.

I thought I would write this post early, it's Saturday and I'm watching my boyfriend play cricket however I have been blessed with wi-fi! THANK YOU THE CLOUD! So instead of sitting here pretending to understand the game, which I really don't, I thought it might be useful to do what women do best...multi-task.

Even though I've just mentioned the beautiful weather we've been having it's overcast today so I'm not loving the grey sky, although it is much better than the rain we'd had in the night/early this morning! The temperature isn't bad either so I am rather enjoying sitting in the car, window open, laptop on my knees, leisurely watching the game and praying my boyfriend's team wins (fingers crossed everyone).

Now for those who know me you'll know I am definitely not a sports fan. I despise it and would pick a Netflix day in bed over venturing out of the house to watch it let alone play any! Nevertheless, as Luke plays cricket and it has to be one of the things he possibly loves just as much as me I felt that it was only fair for me to at least try and watch/understand it. This is my third game I am watching now and I am understanding a few things. I finally know how to understand a score. How the scoring system works...I'm still terrible but I'm better than when I first started. I think that's one thing that you must try and do in a relationship, compromise. It's one of those factors that allows a relationship to succeed. I watch cricket and take an interest for Luke, however on a sunny day I quite enjoy it! So if I've done that I ask Luke to compromise and let me watch a Disney film or chick flick. This actually worked as last night I was allowed to watch 25 minutes of Anastasia before deciding to change to watch 'Morning Glory', which Luke actually liked! So yes you could say I'm incredibly happy!

I went into my old Secondary School/Sixth Form on Thursday as my Head of Year and Learning Mentor had been asking my brother if I was coming in to visit. It was nice seeing everyone and how different the Sixth Form looked since I was last there. My teachers said they could see such a difference in myself. I was more positive and definitely more confident. Its nice to hear that when A-Levels was by far one of the hardest two years I have experienced so far. I just look at how far I've come in that time and it's all because I have gone to University. I am finally doing something I enjoy and soon I'll be a fully qualified teacher with my own class. It's very overwhelming as well as exciting.

Sidenote: Luke claps a lot...more than everyone else. Now it's hard to envision this but it's very amusing. The best way to describe it is by thinking of that monkey from Toy Story 3 with the cymbals- yes hilarious.

So as I've said I have a lot of ideas for blogs it's just a case of writing them all so they are ready to be published on time. If I've got some exciting day trips planned I might vlog some bits to add to my blog, therefore it's easier for you to see my day. I will also continue to write my blogs as well as I thoroughly enjoy writing still.

I hope you're all well and enjoying this weather!

Moody Monday's Volume 14: I'M BACK!

Hello Bloggers!

I'm very happy to finally say I am back! I have finished placement and I have finished University for the Summer which means that I will be able to spend more time writing my blog. I have to say I have missed writing my blog. It's so nice to cosy up in bed with a cuppa and sit and write some posts, I definitely have a lot to say and don't get me wrong I tried to sit and write a post (hence why I've returned to quite a lot of draft posts), but I've not had the time to finish them. Teaching takes over your life especially when on placement, because I've been working so hard to ensure I get good grades and luckily that's happened I've improved and I finally feel like I can definitely do this! I can't wait to graduate and have my own class!

After going back to University on Friday to hand everything in from placement I have to admit I'm feeling a little worried about final year. Of course the final year is harder, however I have to juggle studies, placement as well as a job hunt! Very, very, very stressful (screams)! Nevertheless, I don't have to think of that until after Summer!

Summer, Summer, Summer! I am so excited about Summer this year, I have a lot planned for once. If I think back to what I was doing last it was spent watching every season of Gossip Girl on Netflix (totally worth it in the end). However, this year I have lots of exciting things planned that actually involve leaving the house and my bed (shock).

I'm seeing Dirty dancing tonight at Love Rouge bakery with my friend Adeline. On Thursday I'm seeing Hozier at the O2 Academy with Adeline as well. On Monday it's my little brother's 17th birthday as well as seeing Maroon 5 with Hollie. On the 26th June I'm heading to London with my bestie Adeline again to see Taylor Swift in Hyde Park (very excited), it will be an amazing weekend in London! As if that wasn't enough I'll be going back to London on the 27th July for a short getaway with my boyfriend. So I have a lot planned for this Summer which should mean I must have lots to write for my blog.

I am blogging whilst watching Gossip Girl again and I'm already on Season 2 and I only started re watching it on Wednesday! Although I assure you all my unhealthy obsession for Gossip Girl will not keep me in this Summer.

I would also like to say I have just started watching Prison Break with Luke as well and I am so engrossed in it! I couldn't recommend it enough! Thank god for Netflix. Think I'll be having a lazy bank holiday Monday watching more episodes with him (yay)! Hope you're all enjoying your extra long weekends!

Friday Favourites: What I enjoyed in March

Hello Bloggers!

Since we're now in April I thought I would share some of the things I have loved during March. I'll be honest these are random so don't just expect the usual makeup or food related items!

1. Kelloggs Special K Apple and Cinnamon Porridge Sachets

I've been trying to swap bread for cereal in a morning and since I hate cereal I thought I'd try porridge. I love cinnamon and apple and I couldn't find anything like this before. Thank you Special K you have actually made something I like! One downside...I can only get this from Tesco which isn't close to my house. I think it's £1.99, however I have noticed it on offer at Tesco £1.00 which is good as I can buy two boxes at once. If you're looking for something healthier that is packed with vitamins and is so tasty then I would recommend these porridges.

2. Make it or break it

As I finished Pretty Little Liars (PLL) I needed a new series to watch on Netflix and I just stumbled upon this one really. I'll be honest the first episode didn't grab me and I definitely wasn't expecting to continue on to watch every episode. However, I started watching this on Sunday and I haven't stopped flicking through episode after episode. It really grabs you when you get into it and now I'm so involved with the characters. The series follows four elite gymnasts and their journey to the Olympics in London 2012. We get to see the struggles they face and how they overcome them to ensure they get to the olympics. I would really recommend this series if you're looking for something to watch. All four seasons are on Netflix!

3. No7 Stay Perfect Eye Shadow from Cappuccino Trio

I got this cute little eye shadow in a No7 gift set around Christmas time. It's a beautiful shimmery bronze colour and I think enhances the colour of my eyes. I have hazel eyes and I find browns really makes them pop a beautiful muddy green colour (the best way I could describe it). I found this at the bottom of my makeup draw and I thought I'd try and use it. When using this I pair it with my Nars Eye shadow duo.

4. Nars Duo Eye shadow: Cordura

I bought this last year and had stopped using it. Recently I've been using the darker shade of brown, in the duo, to smoke the crease around my eye. I prefer using this paired with the No7 eyeshadow because it's shimmery and I think it makes my eye colour pop. I'm definitely glad I started using this eyeshadow again. Definitely a staple if you have green or hazel eyes!

5. Motel Rocks

I've just bought a cute little sunflower dress off this site and I can't wait until it arrives. There is a great 70% off sale currently so definitely have a look! This was a treat to myself for my birthday! I'll definitely keep my eye on this site, however I really do have to stop spending so much money! Click on the logo above to get the link to the site.

6. Benefit Roller Lash

There's been so much talk over this and I picked up a copy of Elle magazine back in February and intended to try Roller Lash sooner. When rooting through my makeup drawer and finding make up items I hadn't used in ages I thought I'd finally give this mascara a whirl. I have to say I was amazed and it really made my lashes so much longer and look thicker. This will definitely be my new staple make up item!

Moody Monday's Volume 6: A busy but exciting week ahead!

Hello Bloggers!

I just realised that I think I doubled up on Moody Monday posts last week so we certainly were very Moody! Anyhoo Monday has reared it's ugly face again and it's time to look forward to the week ahead. I have so much going on this week. It is a reading week at University and due to the lack of lectures I have OBVIOUSLY organised to do fun things during the day (whilst also leaving time to do important work and reading as well).

Monday is going to be my lazy day. A day I can spend in my PJs watching Pretty Little Liars and starting on the huge pile of Uni work I have to do in prep for next week's lectures.

Tuesday is when I'm off to go and spend the day in my upcoming placement class. I'm in Reception this year and I am so excited to see how different it is to Years 1&2. It will bring new challenges I am sure but I'm so motivated to become more confident in this age range.

Wednesday I have an R.E trip so it will be another early morning (boo) but I'll get to see my best friend Megan and have a good old sing song in the car (necessary)!

Thursday will be a lazy and chilled out morning/afternoon probably doing the same as I did on Monday. Then I will have to prep for a meal and karaoke evening with the girls which I'm so excited about! Snow please do me a favour and not mess this up because I've been practicing my karaoke songs and I'm ready ok?!

Friday will be a lazy morning slowly packing away my weekend things to prepare Derek (my car) and set off on my road trip to Nottingham. I will have my Sat-Nav set up as well as my Spotify playlist.

Saturday and Sunday will involve spending time with Hannah exploring Nottingham before driving home on the Sunday. I want this weekend to be filled with food, tea and wine all which are necessary for me to function relatively normally.

So as you can see this is the most I've done so far in a week. It's ok I think we can all admit that I am so lazy and would take tea, netflix and a pair of PJs over a night out any day! Sad...but true.

Hope your week looks exciting too!
