Moody Monday's Volume 21: Honesty

Hello Everyone.

Now for those who tune in at 5pm every Monday to read my post you probably saw that I wrote about a recent break up I was going through. After speaking with Luke I decided to remove it, as although that was what I was feeling in that moment, maybe it wasn't right to post it on social media at that time. I want to be completely honest with you all that I am actually going through one of the most stressful and confusing times to date, the last time I felt this way was in Sixth Form in my final year of A Levels. I put it down to it being my final year of University, it's important and becoming a teacher means I am entering into one of the most stressful and hard jobs there is right now. There is no right answer on how to do things right, and that's really scary.

I did spend the weekend with Luke and we seem to have resolved our issues for now. One thing I have learned is that you can't fully forget a problem, but you can move past it. I don't want to dwell on all the bad things that went wrong, I want to focus on the here and now and be with someone who genuinely does make me happy. We just need to work on a few things. I guess another thing I have learned is communication and listening. I find it so difficult to admit I am wrong, but I am aware more than ever now that I have a few things to work on. I just need to remember to find a balance between Luke, University, Friends, Family and Placement, because right now these are my main focus.

Blogging is also something I love and if I'm being honest (again) it really is a way for me to get my feelings down and out there for all to see. I want you to see me for me, with a few edits in places of course. I now understand that I just need to be careful what I write. I didn't think how the previous post would affect Luke and for that I am sorry.

Another big change in my life is losing someone who I thought was a close friend. I guess we ended up taking different paths and moving on to other things in our lives and we weren't the right fit for each other anymore. A few events that happened over the weekend left me feeling betrayed, but I truly did want to work out the issues we had. I guess you can't force someone to want to see you as a friend and that was a hard thing for me to realise. I can't call someone a true friend if they're willing to hurt me and not think of me as a friend. *cue BMTH- True Friends*

I just want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who reads my rambles. Half the time I write a post I sit in silence staring at the screen letting my fingers type away every thought in my mind. Sometimes it can be great writing and other times less than perfect. However, I enjoy writing and posting for you all. I feel like this is my safe place to just tell you all how I'm feeling in the hope that someone, maybe one of you understands me? They say everything gets better and you understand life more when you're an adult. Although, I feel as lost as ever and my mind is definitely confused. Nevertheless, I'm not going to be beaten and I am going to get on with my assignments and prepare for placement, which starts next Monday (16th). Now that is a scary thought!

Once again thank you for reading. I welcome you to comment below if you are going through similar things to me or you just want a chat with me! My email is available here too. I hope you are all well and you're ready for this new week. I want the days to drag because I really need to get stuck into these assignments if I have any hope of doing well.

Moody Monday's Volume 15: Let's have a chat

Hello Bloggers!

Yes, I know I'm terrible at remembering to blog recently! Awful and there isn't an excuse why I haven't so I won't start by making one! A lot of exciting things have happened over the last few weeks and coupled with the beautiful weather we've been having it has made an exciting start to my Summer!

Luke and I. Nice yellow jumper  from Matalan cheers for the hole though guys! Will be taking this back!
I will aim to be more on top of posts this week I assure you! It will be nice to get back into a schedule.

I thought I would write this post early, it's Saturday and I'm watching my boyfriend play cricket however I have been blessed with wi-fi! THANK YOU THE CLOUD! So instead of sitting here pretending to understand the game, which I really don't, I thought it might be useful to do what women do best...multi-task.

Even though I've just mentioned the beautiful weather we've been having it's overcast today so I'm not loving the grey sky, although it is much better than the rain we'd had in the night/early this morning! The temperature isn't bad either so I am rather enjoying sitting in the car, window open, laptop on my knees, leisurely watching the game and praying my boyfriend's team wins (fingers crossed everyone).

Now for those who know me you'll know I am definitely not a sports fan. I despise it and would pick a Netflix day in bed over venturing out of the house to watch it let alone play any! Nevertheless, as Luke plays cricket and it has to be one of the things he possibly loves just as much as me I felt that it was only fair for me to at least try and watch/understand it. This is my third game I am watching now and I am understanding a few things. I finally know how to understand a score. How the scoring system works...I'm still terrible but I'm better than when I first started. I think that's one thing that you must try and do in a relationship, compromise. It's one of those factors that allows a relationship to succeed. I watch cricket and take an interest for Luke, however on a sunny day I quite enjoy it! So if I've done that I ask Luke to compromise and let me watch a Disney film or chick flick. This actually worked as last night I was allowed to watch 25 minutes of Anastasia before deciding to change to watch 'Morning Glory', which Luke actually liked! So yes you could say I'm incredibly happy!

I went into my old Secondary School/Sixth Form on Thursday as my Head of Year and Learning Mentor had been asking my brother if I was coming in to visit. It was nice seeing everyone and how different the Sixth Form looked since I was last there. My teachers said they could see such a difference in myself. I was more positive and definitely more confident. Its nice to hear that when A-Levels was by far one of the hardest two years I have experienced so far. I just look at how far I've come in that time and it's all because I have gone to University. I am finally doing something I enjoy and soon I'll be a fully qualified teacher with my own class. It's very overwhelming as well as exciting.

Sidenote: Luke claps a lot...more than everyone else. Now it's hard to envision this but it's very amusing. The best way to describe it is by thinking of that monkey from Toy Story 3 with the cymbals- yes hilarious.

So as I've said I have a lot of ideas for blogs it's just a case of writing them all so they are ready to be published on time. If I've got some exciting day trips planned I might vlog some bits to add to my blog, therefore it's easier for you to see my day. I will also continue to write my blogs as well as I thoroughly enjoy writing still.

I hope you're all well and enjoying this weather!

Moody Monday's Volume 12: Boys Boys Boys

Hello Bloggers!

I'm going to pre warn you. This post is a rant!

Now I am perfectly happy in my relationship don't get me wrong, however I have noticed how difficult it is for boys to understand women. I mean they are never really able to put themselves in our shoes. My boyfriend and I have our arguments but one that really has got to me lately is the fact that he is set on me being friends with his ex. Now, for men this may seem normal. I mean there's nothing between them anymore, turns out their better friends than lovers, however it does not mean that I need or want to be friends with this girl. She could be a lovely person and I have nothing against her personally, but when she's been with my boyfriend intimately then it makes things really awkward!

Surely it's ok for me to feel this way?! Yes. Yes it is.

You see I did explain this and of course he doesn't understand how I feel. Women love to talk about feelings and quite frankly I'd love for my boyfriend to open up a bit more. No. That's a feminine thing apparently! I feel like sometimes I'm made to feel like my feelings are wrong and I shouldn't feel that way.

More often than not I've been told "oh don't be silly" "oh you're overthinking" "oh you're being paranoid"...no I'm being a women and it's perfectly ok for me to feel the way I do. Men shouldn't be allowed to tell us how to think or feel. I'm entitled to my own opinion as all women are. I hate fighting so it would be nice if my boyfriend and I could just move past this because it really shouldn't be important if I'm friends with her or not. It took me a while to get ok with them hanging out still (as friends) so he shouldn't push me too much. I'm being more than reasonable.

Another tip for men. If your ex is being horrid to your new girlfriend, don't agree with what the ex is saying. Stupidly my boyfriend did this. I cried and it was a literal face palm moment. I mean come on! How naive can men be?

Too often men use the excuse "sorry I wasn't thinking" which is sometimes ok to use. Although, when this phrase is used repeatedly during an argument to avoid too much of the blame and to move on it's certainly NOT ok. If you weren't thinking the first time then you need to stop, think and learn from what had been before so that we don't have to go through the same mundane argument again!

I love my boyfriend to pieces but I'd kill for him to understand me a bit more. Wouldn't hurt them would it girls?

Hope you enjoyed my little rant. I'm not a man hater just needed to get some feelings out there.

Moody Monday's Volume 11: Easter Holidays

Hello Bloggers!

Sorry I've been absent and posts have been patchy. Placement has definitely been full on, in a good way. It's nice to get stuck into this placement even though I'm not as familiar with Reception as I am with Years 1/2, but it's reassuring to know I have some fab mentors who are really giving me the best help and support.

We've just broken up for Easter and I am so happy to get a well deserved break! My holiday won't be spent abroad or in the sun, however I will be spending my time planning for my placement and seeing my friends.

It's not long till my birthday and I don't think it's sunk in that I'll be 20 soon. That makes me feel so old. I mean so much has happened in a year and I definitely need to mature a little! This will obviously help me when on placement as I'm really struggling to manage the class. I need to assert myself as a strong adult that the children listen to as I feel I'm sometimes 'too nice' and trusting that they run rings around me! To be honest I see a lot of this happen in my life as well so it doesn't surprise me that children do the same thing to me!

As a teacher I've also seen an increase in the amount of money I'm spending on books! I'm slowly building up a nice little stockpile that I can use in my own classroom. It makes me so excited to graduate as well as more determined to do well on this placement.

Organisation is key and I definitely feel I've become so much better with this lately! I'm able to juggle placement, a boyfriend, family and spending time with my friends without worrying too much which is a shock for me!

Overall, Megan is pretty happy and back to her usual self again! I'm really happy with Luke and I'm glad things are going well with him (so so so so so happy) I could sit and talk all day about how happy he makes me but that's because I am so soppy. I've also been able to see my friends Lucy and Hollie who I haven't seen in a while. It's really nice to catch up with people who you haven't spoken to recently. It's made me realise how I want to make more time to see those that I've missed and see more of my friends. With having less time it makes you realise who's still your friend and interested in you. When you have little time you don't want to waste that on people who can't make time for you!

I hope you're all well and you've had a lovely weekend! Hopefully my posts will get back on track and my blog will be more active!

Moody Monday's Volume 10: Exhausted and fed up

Hello Bloggers

This weekend has been awful to say the least. It was supposed to be a relaxing few days to spend with my boyfriend and family before placement started. However, I've had severe abdominal pain since Thursday morning and I ended up in A&E on Saturday night.

I'm on antibiotics now and hopefully I'll be back to my usual happy self again soon (fingers crossed). I'm just annoyed with being ill now. Really embarrassing telling people what's wrong with me (awful).

Sorry I haven't posted properly in a while the stress of assignments and my ever growing workload just got to me! I've finally handed all my work in and school placement starts. I'm really excited to get creative in lessons which being in Reception allows me to do. There are some boys that are interested in dinosaurs and I have some amazing dinosaur books for them.

I'm cutting it short today. Hopefully this week will turn positive as Luke is supposed to be coming on Saturday and I don't want to have to cancel.

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend and you're looking forward to the rest of the week!

Moody Monday's Volume 7: Moody Megan

Hello Bloggers!

It's Monday...again. So mad at how my weekend in Nottingham was cancelled due to the snow and ice. I think I've become too old for the snow now. It always arrives at an inconvenient time! I couldn't get to University on Thursday and I was hoping so badly it would be ok on Friday, but after much deliberation I didn't want to risk it.

So what have I done? Well I filled my time by trying to watch 'Girls' again. I'm glad I tried to watch this again as it's really good. I would totally recommend you go watch it. Even if you try it just give it time. It takes a while to get into box sets but now that I've tried again I'm glad I did. I have to admit it is hard to juggle watching Pretty Little Liars as well as watching Girls! I'm addicted to TV. The way I look at it though is that I watch Girls on Sky so I have something to watch on the TV, whereas I watch Pretty Little Liars on Netflix. Technically I'm mixing it up!

Also over the weekend I found Pinterest. Yes I know a bit 'late to the game' but I had downloaded it and I never used it (or didn't know how to-one of the two). I am hooked! If you want to check my pins out you can here: Pinterest. If you have Pinterest put your links in the comments below and I'll have a snoop through your profile!

Another thing I have developed an obsession for is the app Crossy Road I guess Snow Days give you chance to find pointless games and play them non-stop. I'm not stopping playing until I unlock the Pig! This game is free from the App Store so why not go and download it? Let me know which characters you use! If you do play it what's your high score?

I'm going to London this Thursday so I have to get packing as I'm leaving straight after Uni! I'm attending the Nursery World Show which I will be talking about in a later blog for all trainee teachers or who teachers who didn't attend! I am excited to learn from this experience as I am teaching in Reception this year so to get extra tips and advice will be so useful.

I hope you had a fabulous weekend!

Moody Monday's Volume 6: A busy but exciting week ahead!

Hello Bloggers!

I just realised that I think I doubled up on Moody Monday posts last week so we certainly were very Moody! Anyhoo Monday has reared it's ugly face again and it's time to look forward to the week ahead. I have so much going on this week. It is a reading week at University and due to the lack of lectures I have OBVIOUSLY organised to do fun things during the day (whilst also leaving time to do important work and reading as well).

Monday is going to be my lazy day. A day I can spend in my PJs watching Pretty Little Liars and starting on the huge pile of Uni work I have to do in prep for next week's lectures.

Tuesday is when I'm off to go and spend the day in my upcoming placement class. I'm in Reception this year and I am so excited to see how different it is to Years 1&2. It will bring new challenges I am sure but I'm so motivated to become more confident in this age range.

Wednesday I have an R.E trip so it will be another early morning (boo) but I'll get to see my best friend Megan and have a good old sing song in the car (necessary)!

Thursday will be a lazy and chilled out morning/afternoon probably doing the same as I did on Monday. Then I will have to prep for a meal and karaoke evening with the girls which I'm so excited about! Snow please do me a favour and not mess this up because I've been practicing my karaoke songs and I'm ready ok?!

Friday will be a lazy morning slowly packing away my weekend things to prepare Derek (my car) and set off on my road trip to Nottingham. I will have my Sat-Nav set up as well as my Spotify playlist.

Saturday and Sunday will involve spending time with Hannah exploring Nottingham before driving home on the Sunday. I want this weekend to be filled with food, tea and wine all which are necessary for me to function relatively normally.

So as you can see this is the most I've done so far in a week. It's ok I think we can all admit that I am so lazy and would take tea, netflix and a pair of PJs over a night out any day! Sad...but true.

Hope your week looks exciting too!
