This list is in no particular order, but I hope you like a lot of the songs off this list.

Are there any songs that I left off that you like?

What are your 2014 favourites?

Happy New Year!

Moody Monday's Volume 2

Moody Monday’s: Reflection

It’s coming up to NYE and I think I’m ready to reflect on 2014.

Like every other year it’s had highs and lows, but that’s normal right?

I finished my first year of University and have now started my second. I did well on my first placement for teaching. I have survived fall outs with friends. Seen a few gigs. Fallen in and out of love. Lost some friends on the way. Visited London and saw old friends. Visited Kent to see my grandparents and made many new friends. Seen a lot of farm animals and watched as my obsession and love for pigs grows and grows. Cried buckets of tears and laughed till I pulled tummy muscles. Ditched my New Year diet and ate my body weight in food!

Hmm...beginning to sound like Bridget Jones with the addition of pigs here!

I have a few regrets but I’m starting to realise that everything happens for a reason. Something good will come along when it is supposed to and you can’t rush into things.

I’ve also learnt to assess my relationships before jumping headfirst into one! I mean I don’t want history to repeat itself. If anything 2014 has given me some valued advice that I can carry into 2015. Hopefully I won’t be naive and I will learn from my mistakes.

Diets. They never work for me. I become obsessive and depressed with counting calories and getting down and worried about my body. This year I have accepted my body shape. First you must love yourself before you can be loved. I realised I loved eating food too much to think so much about what I eat. I’m not saying I am obese, I’m merely a curvy girl! I’m definitely not one of those girls who is going to go on a date and order a salad I assure you!

I have a few New Years Resolutions and I’ve decided that this year I will achieve them!

1.     I will make more of an effort to visit some friends at University. I’m mainly talking about my friend Hannah who is at Nottingham Trent University. I promised to see her, however things got hectic and I haven’t had the time. I know as soon as I get some free time I will drive over and see her (as soon as she returns to University that is).

2. I will try and lose a bit of weight just because I want my tum to be flatter! Of course I'd want to start this in the New Year as I love eating Christmas food far too much! However this is not something I want to obsess over. This is my choice and if it starts making me unhappy I will stop.

3. Finally, be happy. Don't get down all the time and allow boys to get to you. I'm a strong girl and I shouldn't let guys fool me so easily!

Hope you're all looking forward to 2015 and reign in the New Year with friends and family! I'll either be celebrating with my best friend Megan or having a food and movie night with my brother and the dogs!

Christmas update

Hello Bloggers!

Ok ok ok so I didn't get round to posting a Friday favourites post, although I plan to make up for this now! Today my Dad and I braved the snow and travelled to Leeds to buy a MacBook Air.

*DANCES AROUND EXCITEDLY*

Yes I have wanted one for a while now and since my old laptop has been playing silly beggars I decided to use some of my savings to divulge in a treat. Everyone deserves a treat right? This is my first post I am writing with my new baby and so far I am beyond impressed!

I want to thank Hannah and Abz for putting up with my endless texts asking for help and advice I really appreciate it!

In other news I received 'Girl Online' by Zoella for Christmas and I started reading it that evening around 10.30pm and by 4.30pm Boxing Day I had finished it. Fair to say that I am still a sucker for a teen love story that may never happen to me but a girl can dream! It also made me more determined to be more committed to my blog! I mean it is something I love and I should make more time for it so that is something I am going to do!

Armed with my new Mac I plan to write on my blog more often as this has made writing all the more fun and I have a feeling 2015 will be a good year for me (fingers crossed)! I deserve a bit of luck!

I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas and are looking forward to New Years Eve! Fair to say my Christmas was hectic and I have eaten FAR too much food! "Hello January diet!"

What was your favourite gift and why?

Now I have to say I loved every present I got this year! However my baking books from my parents and grandparents were the icing on the cake (haha) simply because I never knew I wanted them but they really thought about my love for cooking. I am so excited to start cooking more often and taking these recipe books for a spin!

I shall end this post here this evening!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Hello Bloggers!

It's been a busy Christmas Eve making sure we're ready for tomorrow. I am currently sat down with a bottle of Prosecco and I thought I'd update you on what has happened today.

I was up earlier which allowed me to get more things done. I went shopping with my mum to grab a few last things I needed which was manic to say the least. Thanks to the incredibly attractive older guy for checking me out *giggles*. Mum then continued to tell me that I needed to get an older guy which I'm quite liking the sound of (weirdly).

I've also tidied the house and watched the end of The Missing with my family. Loved that series but was disappointed with the ending and can't wait for the second series!

I also finally did some baking with the help of my brother and I am so happy with the outcome (decorating to follow).

The snowman cake was layered with different coloured cake mixes and I think it turned out quite well. It took a while to cook as I think my brother filled my belly too high. In the end though it turned out ok.

Nevertheless I am feeling festive and I am so excited for tomorrow! I hope you all have a merry Christmas!

Tuneful Tuesday's 1

Hello bloggers!

Christmas brings with it hectic shopping trips, sales, beautiful decorations and cosy fires. One thing I also love is the fabulous Christmas songs that come out from the closet to be played for a whole season!

Radios are filled with these songs nearly every day and I'm so happy to tap along to a bit of Bublé, whilst stuck in traffic!

The albums im recommending for every Christmas-a-holic are:
~ Now That's What I Call Christmas (NTWICC)
~ Michael Bublé Christmas (Deluxe Special Edition)

I chose NTWICC as a recommended Christmas album if you like all the classic/pop festive favourites! If the radio doesn't play enough songs for you than you can purchase this CD from iTunes for £11.99 which is worth it for Christmas, right?

However if you prefer something calmer and mellow with a hint of holiday cheer, then look no further than a bit of Michael Bublé. This album is available on iTunes for £8.99. You can't put a price on Bublé though! This is an album that can be played every year no matter how old it gets (and this was released in 2011).

I hope you're all feeling festive! I can't believe it's only 2 days till the big day!

Merry Christmas!

Moody Monday's Volume 1

Moody Monday's: Honesty

Hello Bloggers.

It’s time for me to open up.

Men. They’re an odd bunch aren’t they? They’re so complex and I seem to know little or nothing about how to deal with them.

Moody Mondays was a way for me to vent some of my over powering feelings and unload them on the internet. Basically I’m bearing my soul to you all.

Since my recent breakup you could say I’ve been on a downward spiral, spiralling out of control. My summer was a bleak one and I spent my days shut away in my room binge watching Gossip Girl (every season). To put this into perspective I watched every season of Gossip Girl within the 30-day free trial of Netflix. I finished the whole box set in about 19 days (the extra 11 days allowed me to fit in a few movies). This wasn’t normal behaviour. My summer was supposed to have been enjoyed. I mean we had some pretty lovely weather! The truth was I just didn’t know what to do with myself...sad right?

I can’t say I was hung up over my ex because it was my decision to end the relationship. However I can say it was because in the process of terminating a relationship I then in turn lost my closest and best friend. This was the one person I relied on when times got hard. We did most things together in the three years we had known each other. We had so many memories together and granted the best ones were when we were friends.

I still remember the first time that I really noticed him...properly. It was at a Foster the People Concert. I just had a feeling that we would be good friends. I mean we had so much in common. Our friendship was so strong. We looked out for each other. We could tell each other anything and spend hours on the phone together. He had really helped me out during my first semester at University. I was lonely in my new flat and we used to call one another every night. This usually ended up with me falling asleep on the phone! These are the times I miss...the moments and memories that have been tainted by a less than perfect relationship in which we both changed.

One thing I can say about relationships is if you want to get into one remember that there are TWO people in a relationship and not all your friends too. Unfortunately (I didn’t know this at the time) but the pressure of my ex’s friends saying things about me had started to change who he was. They didn’t like me and that was clear from day one when we became friends, however I still thought that he would be honest and tell me if someone said something to try and break our seemingly ‘unbreakable bond’. Naivety no doubt.

I should've realised that they were a problem and tried to get him to open up. I just wish there was something I could've done to make them like me. Truth is I hadn't done anything wrong and the only solution that could've worked was if he had grown a pair and told them to mind their own business.

I wish I had a clock to rewind back to the conversation where he promised we would never lose our friendship. Back to the conversation when he promised everything would be ok. Back to the time when I wasn’t so naive and realised I couldn’t risk my friendship. To a time where I could be a fly on the wall and tell him that those girls weren't helping and instead of being 'good friends' they were destroying what we had. Thanks to those two girls. I'm glad that he is such a game to you- karma's a bitch and it'll come back around.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing isn’t it?

I now have to come to terms with what has happened and leave it in the past...I need to let it go (I’m saying this once or I’ll run the risk of sounding like the Frozen tracklist).

I’m lucky enough that I still have my closest best friends at University to keep me sane. Although strangely the holidays have made me somewhat lonely? I’ve ended up binge watching Skins episodes and the occasional Rom-Com to which I cry buckets and then switch to an equally depressing episode of skins.

*Deep breath*

What a cracking way to start Moody Mondays eh?

Now...where’s the bottle of prosecco?

3 days to go! Chin Chin!

Festive doggies

Hello Bloggers!

I love my dogs to pieces, I think we all know this!

Pipkin went for her Christmas hair cut on Friday and the groomers gave her a festive bandana. She looks so cute in it!

Bobby and Pipkin are like brother and sister! Inseparable! I decided to dress the dogs up in A Santa hat and angel halo! This could well be a personalised Christmas card for next year!

Pipkin is on the left wearing a fetching Santa hat, whilst Bobby is sporting a very cute angel halo.

Are you getting any of your animals in the festive spirit? Hope my doggies look all cute and festive!

4 days till the big day!

Preparing the house for Christmas

Hello Bloggers!

I've been making the house all festive for the Christmas period and I have finally finished it to a point in which I'm happy!

Mum bought us a new fake 7ft Christmas Tree (I wanted a real one) and I have to say it makes a lovely change to our previous tiny twig, who was looking a bit worse for wear.

In previous years I always felt that we neglected to make the kitchen look festive and this year armed with tinsel and snowflakes my aim was to change this!

Hope you enjoy my festive shots of the house!

Festive Feet

Hello Bloggers!

I think it's fair to say I am so excited for Christmas! I already have my Christmas jumpers at the ready (I'll give them a twirl in a later blog post), however today's focus is on my new Christmas socks I have!
My new socks that I bought from Sainsbury's are the cutest festive socks ever!

I have Christmas Puddings, Christmas Trees, Gingerbread Men, Snowflakes and festive houses. They're black with the design underneath and they were only £6.00.

They're perfect as stocking fillers or for you to wear on the run up to Christmas!

Hope you're enjoying my festive posts!

Unwrapping Soap and Glory Goodness

Hello Bloggers!

After handing in University Assignments and finishing semester 1 I am back.

Today I went to pick up my Soap and Glory Gift Set.

Loved the box design that the items came in

Face wipes

Shower Butter

Moisture Lotion

Body Butter
I used this straight after I got out of the shower. I found it quickly soaked into my skin which is handy when I'm in a rush. This body butter didn't have an overpowering smell which is nice since I like wearing my Emporio Armani Diamonds.

Mascara

Lip Lacquer

Body Scrub
UGGGH the smell is beyond Lush. I happily scrubbed away at my arms and legs. I paid particular attention to my elbows and my knees. Let me tell you they needed it and I was so thankful I invested in this beauty set!

Hand Cream

I've been using this hand cream for the last few days. My hands are so soft! I love this stuff and even when I've finished it I am going to buy it again because it smells so nice and comforting.
Body Wash

I must admit before using this in the shower I wasn't crazy about the scent of this body wash. However, I used this after I had used the Sugar Crush Body Scrub and now my skin smells fruity as well as being smooth. I am in love! This also lathers up really well without using too much.

I love this set and I feel for £29 (saving £31) it was worth every penny!

These sets are all sold out online, however if you see any in your local Boots store pounce on them!

Sorry for being so radio silent!

I got that Friday Feeling

Hello Bloggers

Let's face it I am pants at keeping to my blog schedule. I feel bad that I haven't written in a few weeks.

Mood: Bored. To be honest this is mostly down to the weather. I have been carting my tartan blanket around wherever I go.

I do have a lot to tell you!

Whilst I've been AWOL I have been spending a few weeks in Kent with my grandparents. My University course required me to go on a placement that involved children learning in an Alternative Environment. I chose to spend two weeks at Kent Life in Maidstone. It was so much fun and I can really say I learnt a lot (let's just say my 2000 word reflective journal was more like 7,500)!

I spent time with farm animals (we all know how fond I am of pigs).

Yes, yes they are most cute!

Sadly, I am back in Halifax and I've returned back to University. It was so nice to get away for a while and experience somewhere new. Unfortunately I've just seen all my assignments that are due in soon. I am most certainly beginning to panic.

Today I have tried to start my 2,000 word essay for Alternative Placement but 259 words in and I've hit the wall. Weirdly I could write blogs all day.

Hope you're all well I'll be posting a review of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. Next Friday I shall be posting a 'Friday Favourites' of what I have recently bought. Let's face it I rarely shop, however whilst down in Kent I went to Stratford shopping at the Westfield Centre as well as Westwood Cross in Kent, so lots to show you all!!

1989 Era is here

Hello Bloggers!

Taylor Swift's album came out today and yes thanks to my bestie Megan I know have a copy. This was without a doubt going to be my focus for today's Music Monday!

The look
Firstly can we please just focus on how good the album looks?! I adore the polaroids that come inside the Deluxe Version. Megan and I agreed that this album felt a lot more personal. Even Taylor herself refers to this in the foreword:

These songs were once about my life. They are now about yours”.

It may sound silly but even just handwritten parts on the polaroids make it feel more personal. The polaroids capture Taylor in different moments and you feel drawn in to be part of that with her. This makes the album and for us as fans it feels like we are part of her history. This is now her 5th album and loyal ‘swifties’ have been here supporting her through it. For us this is a milestone marking a memorable moment being referred to as the ‘1989 era’.

The sound
This is Taylor’s full pop album and I wasn’t a fan at first. I loved Taylor for her cute country songs about boys and growing up, however after listening to 1989 I have changed my opinion. I love the 80s vibe. I’ve always been a fan of 80s music I’ve grown up with it as my mum always had 80s music playing in the car. For Taylor to bring out this album it feels vintage and completely different to all the other pop songs in the chart currently. When looking at all her albums you can definitely see how she’s grown as an artist and as a person. There aren’t as many collaborations with vocals in terms of collaborators, for example Imogen Heap, getting solo parts. In a way I think this adds to this album being personal especially as it is about Taylor’s life. With the writing she has collaborated with so many artists I love specifically Ryan Tedder (how gorgeous though?!) he has had so much success as a singer and a songwriter. I think Taylor made such a good choice getting him on board with the album.

The songs
I can't say I have favourites at the minute, as I've only listened to the album once so far (assignments are due in this week guys so I'm up to my eyeballs in work). In time though favourites will stand out to me. If I have to choose some from the first play I would choose; Blank Space, Out of the Woods, Shake it Off, Bad Blood and How You Get The Girl, Style.

My firm favourites are Blank Space and Style so far.

Response
This album seems to be getting positive raving reviews and it’s hardly surprising. She’s gone from being a cute country star to a pop princess and I am still a big fan. The album was worth every penny and I would recommend everyone to buy it if you’re into 80s pop.
I would urge that the Deluxe physical copy is worth a buy. It may seem like a lot of money, however when you see the polaroids and the lyric booklet you will agree that it is worth the extra money!
The Deluxe album gives 13 tracks, 3 bonus tracks, 3 songwriting voice memos, polaroids encased in a cute box with a lyric booklet. The best way to describe the look is definitely something you would see in Urban Outfitters!

Hope you enjoyed this review guys! If you buy the album let me know what you think!

Ramble Thursdays: Starting University

Happy Thursday Readers!

It's late September now and most Universities will be starting again. Freshers will start and no doubt the first week back will be a blur for most! Nonetheless there will be nerves for starting your new courses. I'll admit University is a big step and becoming independent whilst trying to get to grips with your new course can seem daunting. I felt exactly the same last year, however I'm moving into my second year now and I've survived!

When starting any new course at University there is a chunk of reading to do. I know a lot of students who regretted this and didn't get the mark they wanted at the end of first year. I may be alone in thinking this, but personally if I was paying £8000/£9000 a year then I would want to do everything I could to make sure that that money wasn't wasted. I'm aiming for a first at the end of my three years so during my second year I'm really going to put more effort in!

My downfall last year was getting on top of assignments. I was silly in that I didn't plan when I was going to do them, or start them early. This year I plan to change this and start planning as soon as I get them. This way I will have more time to edit and change my essay/project prior to the hand in date. Also I will be worrying less so if I've finished an assignment I can hand it in and then have more time to go out and do the things I enjoy!

Reading recommended books your lecturers suggest is really worth it. Although, one thing you should do is reference the book when you've read it. That way if you get given an assignment and you've already read the book you don't have to worry about reading it again, because you will have made notes and referenced. This will make it less stressful and will help when writing your essay!

I started back on Monday and I'm sure I will have lots to tell you when I write next Thursday! I'm really looking forward to seeing my friends again and getting back into a routine. I've been sleeping in far too late and going to bed at silly hours! Going back to Uni will definitely mean my sleeping pattern has to change drastically! Mum and Dad are away for 2 weeks so I am planning to use my Thursdays off to get back into my baking. I have big plans!

Yes, I'm aware I don't sound like your typical student. This is mainly down to the fact that I've moved back home as renting in Leeds became too expensive when I don't live miles away. I can drive in everyday and save money to use on better things! It also means that I'm not worrying about food shopping which is a god send when I start back at placement.

Overall, I can't wait for second year to start. It means I'm closer to graduating and I can't wait to be a fully qualified teacher in charge of my own class. I'm more than excited to get my own house and start being more of an adult.

I hope your week is going well! One more sleep and then FRIDAY! I'll be off to the Student Lock-In tonight at Meadowhall like last year. Next week's blog will be all about that. Hopefully I'll have some goodies to show you all!

I'm the greatest dancer
1. I'm 19.
Being 20 next year is a bit scary...maybe it's time to start growing up haha-not going to happen! I was born on April 21st 1995. I wasn't actually going to be called Megan I was going to be Eleanor May. Instead I'm Megan May.

2. I love going to see musicals and visit theatres in general.
Hairspray, Les Mis, Sister Act, Grease, Sound of Music.

3. My favourite colour is green.
I don't know why this is my favourite colour but it is. I prefer lime/light greens over darker greens.

Bobby and I
4. I adore dogs.
My dog is my favourite thing ever. He is adorable. Bobby is my best friend and I look forward to our cuddles and kisses in bed on morning. I don't mind being woken up early if it's by him!

5. I really want a ginger pig called Wotsit.
Yes I've asked for a pet pig for my birthday and Christmas for the last 3 years and my mum refuses to give into the idea. Personally I believe owning a pig will be cute.

6. My favourite season is Winter.
Cold, cold, cold! I can't wait to crack out the knitwear and cosy jumpers. Curling up on the sofa with Bobby and put the fire on. Fluffy socks and boots. Yes ok I have an obsession with Winter.
7. I LOVE CHRISTMAS!
By far my favourite holiday! The food, presents, the shops, the mood, TV and movies. Everything about Christmas I am CRAZY about. I'm already counting down the days to Christmas and don't blame me if I'm far too excited already!

8. I am a girl gamer.
I play COD more than I should but I've already discussed this...it's bad and I'm addicted.

9. I go to Leeds Trinity University.
So glad I got into Uni. It's the best decision I have made in my life so far and I would tell everyone to go to Uni if they got the chance!

10. I'm Training to be a Teacher.
I've always wanted to work with children and a teacher seemed the best fit for me.

11. I like singing and playing guitar in my room.
Can't say I have much confidence with my singing and I've only recently got into playing guitar so I can't say I'm a master. With a bit more practice maybe I'll feel more comfortable performing in public.

12. I live on a mini farm (we love animals).
I have horses, dogs and some cats. We used to have chickens but unfortunately they disappeared...bye bye chickies.

13. I like going to gigs.
I've seen so many people live now and I feel so lucky to have seen them especially before they became big and expensive. Some of my best memories are from gigs but the worst feeling has to be post-gig depression.

14. I love Indie/Alternative music.
Hozier, Kodaline, We Were Evergreen, Rhodes, Two Door Cinema Club, Foster The People, Noah And The Whale, Years and Years, Dan Croll, Coasts, Orla Gartland, King Charles, Bastille, the list goes on and on...

15. I drive...
Driving to Uni, road trips, music loud.

16. Due to being able to drive I have a Nissan Micra and he's called Derek.
My friend gave me a magnetic moustache to put on my car so he looks all cute.

17. I only have my ears pierced.
I'm not a big fan of piercings and tattoos so I definitely think I would stick with just having my ears pierced.

18. I was inspired to write a blog.
I decided to write a blog because I watch Youtubers and felt inspired by Zoella and Sprinkle of Glitter.

19. I love pigs and piglet.
It's an obsession and I'm addicted. I don't care though they are the cutest!

20. I am obsessed with Disney.
Movies, songs, everything. One day I will get to Disneyland, but it will probably be when I have children of my own.

Music Monday 1: Neon Trees

Monday is my least favourite day of the week and I have no idea why. I guess it'll be worse when I start back at Uni!

When travelling to Uni it is important for me to have some music on my journey as it keeps me occupied whilst being stuck in traffic jams! Over Summer I have been listening to music and adding it to my Spotify playlist. I know I know in recent posts I rave about Spotify but it's the best thing I spend £4.99 a month on!

I loved the band Neon Trees, I am obsessed with 'Everybody Talks'. Although I'd never listened to their other albums and songs so now I have Spotify I've explored their album and their new stuff. I love their album Pop Psychology in particular their song 'Sleeping with a friend'. There are also remixes of those songs and sometimes I'm not really into remixes, the 'Sleeping with a friend- the Chainsmokers remix' was one of the most listened to on the Neon Trees artist page so I added it to my playlist and now I really love it! Definitely worth a listen. So if you're looking for a new band to add to your playlist, or maybe you're like me and think that you need to listen to more of Neon Trees then it's never too late to have a listen and like me you might for even more in love with their sound.

I hope your Monday was good!

Getting organised

I'm about to start my second year of University and I think it's about time I organised my blog. I've decided to theme days and organise when I'm posting.

Monday- on Mondays there will be a music related post every week. This could be anything from a gig I've been to, band recommendation or a new suggested playlist. I will try and post at 5pm everyday, however this might be hard when I start back at Uni as I'll just finish a lecture at 5.

Thursday- Ramble Thursdays. I might tackle an issue and put my opinion across about something. I might decide to give advice for Uni or I might review something! Again this will be at 5pm and I will try and stick to this.

Food Fridays- this might not be every week, however when it's possible I will post something about a new restaurant I visited and review it. Maybe even a new recipe I've tried. These will again be posted at 5pm.

Sometimes during the week I might decide to post another random post but I think for now 2/3 a week is something to aim for!

I hope that having these 'theme' days it will give my blog more direction and allow this blog to appeal to more people. I'm determined to put more effort into my blog and dedicate a bit more time to it because I do enjoy writing it.

The new blog will be up at 5pm for Music Mondays.

Almost Famous, Leeds

On Friday I visited the new Almost Famous restaurant that has opened in Leeds. I was excited to go as I was seeing my best friend Megan, but also because I'd heard great things about the restaurant in Manchester.

We walked in and were instantly greeted by a warm, friendly waitress who took us to a table and explained the menu and ordering systems. I instantly noticed how fab the music was in there. It was like a mixtape threading lots of different music styles and genres together in a loop so there were no awkward silences. Megan and I couldn't help singing along.

The menu was filled with burger goodness! We spent ages trying to decide what we wanted. I decided to have the 'Triple Nom' which has cheese, BBQ pulled pork, coleslaw, redneck and famous sauce. Megan knows how obsessed I am with pulled pork recently so it was hard not to choose this burger! Overall I thought the burger was nice, however there were peppercorns in and I found the sauce all a bit overpowering not in a good way, so I probably would choose something different next time!

You order your burgers and sides separate which I didn't mind as the burgers were massive and Megan and I shared a side of chips. I loved the chips, there were sweet potato and normal chips some with the skin left on- just beautiful. The bill came to around £20 for both of us so I wouldn't hesitate in going again.

Inside the restaurant is just a mess of wonderful, crazy. There is everything from graffiti on the wall to a huge Gorilla by the entrance where you can have a picture taken sitting in his hand! There's also a photo booth which Megan and I are planning on checking out on our next visit.

I would fully recommend this restaurant and give my visit a 9/10 as I would choose a different burger next time!

Hope you enjoy the pictures from our visit you'll find them below!
